Simplifying Long URL with Newurl.Name
It is true that creating a domain name of our expectation is somewhat difficult, especially if we want it with generic words. The competition of having a very niche domain name consisting of one or two words is so tight that bloggers or webmasters dare to buy it with high price for the sake of getting a name they desire. However, some still find it okay to have a domain name a little longer which consists of more than two words. Especially if the name includes subdomain or permalink, the url name will be very long. By using newurl.name, such a long domain name can be shortened.
Shortening or simplifying a domain name is very necessary specifically for us who join affiliate programs. To promote our affiliate links in order that people can not easily identify it, we can hide affiliate id by using new url name. By then, people whom we target to sign up through our affiliate links do not feel reluctant to do so. Event though the new URL name looks strange, it can redirect url promptly to the link we have renamed.
So, even though the domain name we have is not generically niche, by renaming it with newurl.name we still can make it short and simple. This is important especially if we market or promote affiliate links.

long domains are really hard to remember so it is really necessary for making short domain names. People finds it as tough as they are remembering a sentence instead of domain name!
Really interesting, thanks for useful info!
Does shorting domain name have any psychological effect on the visitors or is it done for easy memorization? I visited your links and found good information about the domain optimization but I am not clear about affiliate links. However, thanks for the post for the knowledge enhancement of the visitors.
